Language week in Ireland

Between March 12 March and 19 March 2019 all 4th graders traveled to Ireland in order to improve their English skills, learn about a foreign culture and to get to know not only their neighborhood but also different sights around. All of us got to spend the week with a local host family in Bray who gave us an understanding for their traditions and provided us with breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

The first three days we attended a local school from 9 to 12:30 except for Friday where we had to stay longer to catch up with the learning material due to the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day. As for the rest of the day we went on trips to all kinds of Sights for example: Google, Glendalough, the Guinness Storehouse, the General Post Office (GPO), Trinity College, Irish dance evening and many more. After visiting we got some free time left to spend the rest of the day as we pleased so there was additional time to explore some more places and go shopping. Sunday was all about celebrating the traditional St. Patrick’s Day where we watched the famous parade in Dublin. The last day we did a 7km cliff-walk from Greystones to Bray. It was really exhausting but we had a very beautiful view on the sea. The next day we had to wake up at 3am to catch the plane.

That week in Ireland left a good impression and it was a pretty nice experience we will always remember.
